PLAN A OR PLAN B?

Key Verse 1 Peter 5:6

“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time”

 

His “mighty hand“ is His mighty plan

 

Gods Mighty Hand is the same thing as Gods best plan

 

How do we keep ourselves from missing God’s plan for our lives?

 

2 things place us under the authority of God’s plan!

A submissive spirit 

A humble spirit 

 

Submission is a commandment

Submission is the opposite of rebellion

Submission is the antidote for rebellion!

 

The second essential thing to know God’s plan is “Being clothed with humility” 

 

“Put on“ - in the Greek means clothing that identifies people.

 

Once Humility is put on it has to be trained into the mind!

 

Romans 12:2   And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that

you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will (* PLAN ) of God. * 

 

Once humility is put on and trained into the mind it becomes an inside-out virtue of the heart. 

 

Just as submission is the opposite of rebellion, so humility is the opposite of pride.

 

Romans 12:3 says

For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly

than he ought to think (*pride) but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. *

 

There is NO GREATER EXAMPLE of humility than Jesus Christ!

 

The ultimate plan of God is to glorify Himself

 

We can avoid missing Gods plan by recognizing that our greatest purpose as believers is to glorify God!

 

We glorify God by Believing in the Person of Jesus, growing in love and bearing fruit

 

Being exalted in due time is for faithful believers who receive reward at the Judgement Seat of Christ

 

Faithful believers who keep running the race glorify Jesus!

 

Being faithful and true means saying no to the flesh and yes to the Spirit

 

Being “exalted in due time” happens on God’s schedule!

 

Sometimes we grow impatient and want to run ahead  of God! 

 

God is neither late or early! God’s timing is perfect!

Spoiler alert: For the believer there is no Plan B!

 

You must make a choice: Are you going to choose God‘s best?

 

What about those who have not believed in Jesus?

THERE SIMPLY IS NO PLAN “B” NO OTHER WAY UNTO SALVATION.
