Statement of Faith

Sec.1 Scriptures

We believe the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God; the only complete and final revelation of God's will to man, and the supreme standard of all faith and practice. (2 Tim. 3:16, 17; 2 Peter 1:19-21)

Sec. 2 The Holy Trinity

We believe there is one sovereign, eternal, infinite God, revealed as Father, Son  and Holy Spirit; one in substance, equal in power and perfection. (I Cor. 8:6; John 14:26; Isaiah 44:6)

(a) God the Father, Creator and Sustainor of the universe. (Genesis 1:1)

(b) Jesus Christ the Son, truly God and truly man, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, having been sent by the Father for the redemption of mankind. (John 3:16; John 1:1)

(c) The Holy Spirit, third person of the Trinity, was sent into the world by the Father and the Son as administrator of the things of God upon the earth during this age--convicting of sin, and revealing truth.  The Holy Spirit is the agent of new birth, indwelling believers and empoweing them in prayer, service, and restraining evil.     (John 14:16, 17, 26; Romans 8: 14-27)

Sec. 3 Satan

We believe in the reality and personality of Satan; that he is the unholy god of this age, the author of all the powers of darkness and sin.  He seeks to prevent sinners from coming to Christ as Saviour and to render Chrstians ineffective in their testimony.  His destiny shall be eternal damnation in the lake of fire. (Matthew 4:1-3; 2 Cor. 4:4; Rev. 20:10)

Sec. 4 Man And Sin

We believe that God created man in his own image from the dust of the earth in innocence; by voluntary transgression, man fell into sin, plunging all men into condemnation and death.  (Gen. 1:26, 27; 2:17; 3:3,6; Rom. 3:23; 5:12; 6:23)

 Sec. 5 Salvation

We believe that God created man to be by grace through faith, wholly apart from human merit; that every individual is a sinner by birth by choice, and therefore must excercise personal faith in the redeeming work of Christ on Calvary in oder to be saved.            (Eph. 2:8-10; Rom. 10:9, 13; John 3:16-18)

Sec. 6 The Church

We believe the universal church is comprised of all who believe in the Word of God and accept Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord.  It is the body of Christ, with Christ as its head, empowered and perpetuated by the Holy Sprit.(1Cor. 12:12-14)

The local church is the fellowship of believers who voluntarily join together to develop Christians for ministry, to strengthen and minister to one another.  We belive in the independence of the local church to determine and follow God's will.  We also recognize our interdependence with churches of like faith for the purpose of strengthening one another and accomplishing our common goals. (Eph. 4:11,12)

Sec. 7 The Future

We believe in future events as revealed in the Word of God--that Christ will return for His Church, and reign for a thousand years while Satan and his hosts are confined.  Then the unsaved are judged and Satan and his angels and all the unsaved will be cast into Hell forever.  All of the saved will then spend eternity with Christ in the new heaven and the new earth created by God for them.  (Matt. 24:30, 31; Rev. 20:4-15; 21:1-27)
